Companies asked about their appetite for a direct link with the Isle of Man
DIRECT flights between Jersey and the Isle of Man could be introduced, according to Blue Islands.
The airline is consulting with business communities in the two Crown dependencies to assess whether it could add a new route to its existing services – if there is sufficient demand.
Anyone currently making the journey must connect at a UK airport, meaning the ‘door-to-door’ journey can take much of a working day.
Companies are asked how often they fly to the Isle of Man, how many people fly to Jersey, the average cost and time involved, and whether they would consider buying a block of fixed-price flights if the new route was to be introduced.
The survey also includes questions for leisure travelers who wish to use the service.
Tom Barrasin, Commercial Director of Blue Islands, said: “There are many businesses operating in Jersey and the Isle of Man. The survey is designed primarily to better understand business travel needs by collecting data on current behaviors and propensity to travel, to determine if a viable and sustainable route could be restored.
“Blue Islands is constantly assessing opportunities to develop new routes to better connect the Channel Islands, such as our direct services to Rennes, Dublin and Norwich established this year. Engagement with our business and corporate travelers is an essential part of meeting the island’s connectivity requirements.
The survey is available via blueislands.com/iom and will run until November 18.
