Solaris Senior Living Merritt Island and St. Francis Reflections Lifestage Care will co-present a free healthy snacking seminar at 2 p.m. this Thursday, September 15. keeping blood sugar stable, and more.

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – According to The Journal of Nutrition, Americans get an average of 24% of their calories from snacking. With snacks providing so many calories throughout the day, choosing healthy options can prevent overeating and improve overall health.

Solaris Senior Living Merritt Island and St. Francis Reflections Lifestage Care will co-present a free healthy snacking seminar at 2 p.m. this Thursday, September 15.

The event will take place at Solaris Senior Living Merritt Island, located at 535 Crockett Boulevard on Merritt Island.

Jayne Garcia, Dietitian Director of Solaris Senior Living, will discuss how healthy snacking can prevent overeating, help keep blood sugar levels stable, and more.

“We’ll learn how snacking wisely can give us much-needed extra energy, help with weight loss, and stop afternoon crashes,” Garcia said.
