Private Desert Island Country Club at Rancho Mirage Opens to the Public
RANCHO MIRAGE, CA – Desert Island Country Club opened its former private links to the public for the summer on Tuesday and also introduced its new dining destinations.
“We want to take full advantage of the property’s unique heritage while introducing it to a new generation with all modern conveniences,” said Desert Island owner Miguel Nelson. “We think audiences will be pleasantly surprised at what they find here in their own backyard.”
The club said those visiting the 6,715-yard golf course can enjoy “an authentic club experience” with chilled towels, umbrella carts, insulated bottled water and beverage service.
A group of four players can book a 9-hole round for $39 or an 18-hole round for $59. Visitors can reserve their tee time at di71.com/golf-on-desert-island.
Inside the Clubhouse, visitors can find three dining rooms, a grand ballroom, a veranda bar, and a deck with views of the surrounding desert, lake, and mountains. According to the country club, the dining rooms regularly host guest chefs, mixologists and seasonal pop-up menus.
The club’s latest dining destination, The Penney, offers public, private, outdoor and indoor environments. It also offers the Sunken Horseshoe Bar with a terrace for gathering with friends and the Founder’s Room for private occasions.
