Police received a call around 5:45 p.m. Wednesday about a man drinking near a dumpster behind the Michigan Educational Credit Union, 1903 Rochester Road, near 12 Mile Road.

“The suspect had a magazine he was looking at and an open beer can,” Royal Oak Police Lt. Albert Carter said. “He said he was just looking at a picture of Taylor Swift in the magazine.”

Clawson man parking in Royal Oak finds flat tires
A Clawson man who regularly parks vehicles and trailers on nearby streets in Royal Oak found his tires flat early on June 26.
Clawson prohibits overnight parking on its streets.
Two tires were punctured on a Mercury Grand Marquis, as well as two tires on a Buick Roadmaster and tires on a boat trailer.
The vehicles were parked near Boulevard Parmenter and Avenue Delemere.
Police said Royal Oak neighbors in the area complained that the man parked his vehicles there on several occasions.
However, public roads can be used for parking by anyone. The city marks a notice on vehicles parked without moving for 48 hours, but gives the owner an additional 48 hours to move it.
Police said they were investigating the vandalism but had no suspects at this stage.
The owner parks his vehicles in Royal Oak because he has other vehicles occupying his driveway in Clawson, police said.
