Fantasy Island Strategy Game Heroes of Mavia Secures $2.5M Strategic Funding Led by Crypto.com Capital
Hanoi, Vietnam, February 21, 2022, Chainwire
Heroes of Mavia, a blockchain-based massively multiplayer online strategy (MMO) game developed by Skrice Studios, announces the closing of its $2.5 million strategic funding round led by Crypto.com Capital. It also saw participation from Hashkey Capital, Merit Circle, GuildFi, YGG SEA, Avocado Guild and several other funds.
The strategy round marks the latest private sale of the MMO strategy game MAVIA token. He comes hot on Mavia’s heels $5.5 million seed funding from Binance Labs, Genblock Capital and other well-known investors last month, bringing the total amount raised to $8 million.
Bobby Bao, Managing Director of Crypto.com Capital, said: “Crypto.com Capital is thrilled to support Heroes of Mavia in its strategy cycle, as it evolves and prepares for launch in 2022. With its innovative mechanics spanning gameplay and core building elements, as well as visuals premium – we think Heroes of Mavia is well positioned to become one of the best AAA titles to play to win.
Built on Ethereum, the game takes place on a fantasy-themed island called “Mavia”, where the player is the commander of a base. The objective of each player is to develop his base and his army using the resources obtained by attacking the bases of others. It promises to change the landscape of NFT gaming with its intricate mechanics, thrilling gameplay, and unique monetization features.
Tristan Chaudhry, Managing Director of Skrice Studios, said “We are fortunate to have such strong partners supporting our team in this latest fundraising, and having Crypto.com as a lead investor further strengthens Mavia’s position in the NFT gaming space.”
Heroes of Mavia offers AAA-quality graphics and brings state-of-the-art features to GameFi. It allows every base in the Mavia ecosystem to be livestreamed during attacks and defenses. All battles are permanently recorded and can be viewed by anyone, forever.
To get started, players must occupy at least one plot of land in one of three ways: own land, rent land, or partner with a landowner. A plot of land can only contain one base in the game. By allowing players to rent or partner with a landowner, the game makes it easier for them to get started with little or no initial capital.
Heroes of Mavia uses a dual-token model, with MAVIA being the governance token that gives holders the ability to vote on important decisions and direct the future of the Mavia game. The MAVIA token is also used to buy, sell and rent NFTs on Mavia Marketplace.
RUBY is the game token to win in the Heroes of Mavia Game. Players earn RUBY by fighting enemy armies and bases. The token is used for over a dozen in-game purchases, NFT upgrades, and skins and decorations.
