HONOLULU – Central Pacific Bank (CPB) has concluded its Change for Charity campaign, which was launched to help address an unprecedented coin shortage in the financial services industry, while raising funds for Hawai’i Foodbank to help fight hunger.
CPB raised an impressive $7,886.72 in coins. The CPB Foundation is also donating an additional $5,000, bringing the grand total donated to $12,886.72.
CPB and Hawai’i Foodbank executives met today for the presentation of the check at the CPB main branch in downtown Honolulu.
“We are truly grateful for the incredible response from the public and send a huge mahalo to everyone who has brought their coins to a branch of Central Pacific Bank,” said Kisan Jo, Executive Vice President of Retail Markets and operations of the Central Pacific Bank. “Instead of sitting in a jar doing nothing, these coins are now being used again and also helping to put food on the table for those in need.”
“This was the first campaign of its kind and you never know for sure how it might end. We are thrilled to call the Change for Charity campaign a success as it raised much-needed coins to put into circulation, while raising money for those in need,” said Brandt Farias, Executive Vice President and Marketing Director of Central Pacific Bank.
CPB is pleased to partner with Hawai’i Foodbank, who can extend your change as they work directly with the Feeding America network and local distributors to ensure large quantities of food below retail cost. Just $10 helps provide food for 21 meals. To learn more about Hawai’i Foodbank’s mission to fight hunger, please visit: HawaiiFoodbank.org
